a garage
Took a drive-by look at ten of them today, and have appointments to look at five tomorrow. Out of the ten I looked at, only two are decent. And many of the "indecent" ones are absolute hovels! Thankfully many of the places have addresses and you can check them out on maps.google.com before you go out there, but even that pre-inspection (to check out surrounds, too) can't protect against poorly maintained back-yards, etc.
sigh
Have looked at / considered / driven by / inspected 44 places since the owner here decided that he wanted to sell. There have been some really dodgy places, and a couple of really nice ones, one of which we saw this weekend.
ReplyDeleteAnd now our application's in. Got a call today saying that the application's looking good but a couple of tech issues requires that they need more documentation to prove affordability. OK here's the thing: currently paying $425, moving to a place for $385.
Anyway, still waiting for the eMail outlining the requirements. The call came while jr_g was having a moment, and I asked them for an eMail. She still sounded positive and up-beat, so things are looking good at the mo.
The application for the Saturday property has been approved, but we saw one this morning which is
ReplyDelete- $5/wk cheaper
- with the same agency
- in the same suburb as our current place
- secure
Just waiting for the docs to upload so they can be sent to the current agency who has said they will recommend us for the place based on our track record. Thumbs Held!!!
The application for the Tuesday property was approved in the time it took me to turn my lappie off, walk 50m, and go through revolving doors. The worst bit was telling the agency that had previously approved us that we wouldn't be taking up their offer.
ReplyDeleteSo now for the packing.
